Time for a new Watch!

Help! I am looking for a new watch and have it narrowed down to a few. I received from Mr. Bliss the pink blinged out Toy Watch (see below) two years ago. I love it, but I need a more sensible watch that I can wear without getting unusual looks from people who do not appreciate a little pink sparkle.. HA HA..

Which one of these do you like? Or do you have a suggestion for me?? I wear more silver, but I do wear gold sometimes. That is why I am looking at the two-tone..

Thank Goodness Its Friday pretty much sums up my day! The sun is shining here for the first time in weeks!!

And I woke up to day #1 of using Advocare MNS Max 3 from Channa at Life As A Coahes Wife! I will keep everyone posted on how it goes.. I weighed myself this morning so I know exactly where I am starting.

Plus I am finally going to be able to catch up on all the Olympic events that I missed during the day! I love the Olympics!!!

Also, I am almost to my 100th post!! YAY! What should I do?

What a great weekend! Mr. Bliss and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Mr. Bliss cooked a lovely meal, bought me a beautiful orchid and we went to see Robert Earl Keen!!! Made me feel like I was home!

Today, I am off! I love three day weekends! Just started snowing, so I think I am going to have a great day inside..

This weekend Mr. Bliss and I are going to The Greenbrier! I am so excited for all of the wonderful pink and green fabrics, wallpaper and decor. It is the mecca for all things preppy!

I haven't been since they have a new owner. There are new restaurant's and a casino. I am just hoping the wonderful old charm is still in tact. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Being a native Texan ,one of the biggest excitements of life on the East Coast was experiencing actual seasons. Well, I am telling you.. I have experienced Winter and the 24 inches of snow that have fallen since December and I am DONE! It was pretty and white, but then the power was out for 2 days and Saturday Mr. Bliss and I bought a new furnace. A new furnace = a LOT of new shoes!!! I woke up warm this morning, but the snow has started again.. I have to say I am over it and dreaming of Spring! I am sure many of you out there are feeling the same way! So here is a little something warm to start your day!

Daffodil Means new Beginnings

Hello Ladies!

I can not believe that I have been gone from the blogging world since July. So much has happened and I felt that it was time for a come back (hopefully it won't be a Britney comeback and get cancelled)!!! I needed to focus on making my life what I want it to be and now I feel like I am up and running. Here is the five second update for 2010!

I have a new job and I feel like it was made for me. I am happy and thriving, plus it is something I believe in! Don’t worry Mitt Romney- you are still my first priority, just not on a full time basis!

Mr. Bliss and I bought a house and it is wonderful! It is exactly what I would have wanted if I could have chosen any home. Now, it is so much fun decorating and making our home.

Mr. Bliss passed the bar, WOHOO!!!

Mr. Bliss and I are the proud parents of a little Westie named Sidney. She is the cutest puppy and has a darling personality.

I started Atkins today and have decided to go to a Personal Trainer every Monday to keep myself motivated and start my week off right! Hopefully, this will be my last New Year to worry about losing those stubborn LBS!

And let’s just say a few other things have clicked into place and I can put old goals to rest, they have been achieved!!

Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful and merry holiday season and a safe and happy New Year. Here is to 2010 being a wonderful year and a fresh beginning to achieve your goals!

This is how I am referring to myself.. Since this is Day 1 with NO JOB!! YAY! I do have some exciting news... Lots has been happening (I guess that is what happens when you don't blog...)

I am a finalist for my job!! Not only is it the job that I applied for, they bumped me up to run the entire association. I am so excited, this is exactly what I want. Hard, challenging and fun work!!!! Here is the odd glitch--- I have my interview with the board next week and then dinner afterwards.. Except, I am pretty sure it is both of us having dinner. Any advice? Anyone been through this?
I sold my first cupcake order last week! One of my friend's moms was having a party and found out it was a guests birthday, so she ordered 30 cupcakes from me!!
I am in Texas for 10 days!! MY best friend is getting married on Saturday and since I am Unemployed Chic.. I thought why not an extended visit!!
I am an Aunt again!!! I have a new 3 week old niece. She is adorable...

Did I say One Interview... I meant Two!!

Hi Ladies!!! Well, week one of my 4 weeks is almost over! Last night I received a call from the other company I applied to and had an impromptu interview over the phone. I was less than prepared for this, but managed to b.s. my way through, ahhh how I love political jobs. But, I guess I was ok, they are having me come in on Friday at 4pm, yes TOMORROW!! So, now I have a Friday interview and a Wednesday interview!!

This weekend is a big one! Mr. Bliss is graduating from lawschool on saturday afternoon. After three long years, I feel like our life can begin (granted he passes the bar)..

I just have to rant about Danny Gokey not making the final two. What is going?? He is so much better than Kris, ugh.... Guess I will be cheering for Adam Lambert.

Happy Saturday! Other than maybe having to start building an Ark here on the East Coast, I closed a horrible chapter in my life yesterday and opened a new one today!

Well, after months of being unhappy, this week grew substantially worse at work. So, I gave notice yesterday. I gave 4 weeks notice, I know this is alot, but I do have substantial responsibilites and do not want to leave with enemies. I do not have a job yet (which is stressful), but I have a great interview on the 20th and I have a wonderful Mother who is supporting my decision. After getting over the nauseous feeling, haha, I woke up feeling refreshed.

Hopefully, my blogging will be more stable (since I am currently getting an F) and my life will be happy!!

Hello All! I am sorry for my lack of posting. It has been crazy. So much has been going!

Mr. Bliss is HOME! He took his last final on Saturday!!! I am so excited!

I was in Dallas for a 4-day weekend. I was a bridesmaid in one of my sorority sisters’ wedding. It was so great to go home and see my friends, I live TOO far away! We ate great food, drank too much champagne and had a wonderful weekend.

On the job front.. I have an interview May 20th!! Send me good thoughts, as I start to prepare. I am so excited. I really hope this all works out.

Since, so many people commented on the dress.. I did buy it and I should have listened. Very cute for a pool dress, but has NO shape. I returned it!

I was contacted by one of the companies that I applied for today!! They had me take an online personality test. when I competed the test, I replied to his email. He responded very quickly thanking me for my promptness and that he already received my results, which were quite impressive (his words).. YAY!! Hopefully, I will get tot he next step!

Well, it was a weird day weather wise. I was opening my garage door and ice pellets flew in. Yes, people ICE... This Texan does not appreciate ice in April. haha, oh well!

Anyone else watching Idol? All I have to say is what the heck are these ladies wearing???

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mr. Bliss and I went to a baseball game! And then we had a Pre-Grad party with some of his law school friends. Was a great weekend, just what I needed!

Plus, Mr. Bliss and I had some major discussions and my last day will be May 22nd! What a relief! Thank you to everyone with the kind words on Friday, they are much apreciated!!

We stayed at my friend's house and I borroed her dryer. She just bought it and it is truly amazing! My hair was straighter with almost no frizz and it is the most powerful dryer I have ever used. GO BUY IT!!! Remington T-Studio (pink and brown).

Well, yesterday I got the call from Julian Gold that the first of THREE bridesmaid dresses is in... Here it is!! I love it, so pretty!!

It has been a gorgeous weekend here! I am hoping this means Spring is here to stay... I did the best thing ever yesterday and I highly recommend to everyone.. I dumped ALL of my makeup onto a towel on the floor and organized everything. I cleaned my brushes and makeup bags.. It is an amazing feeling to know exactly what I have and what I need..I Love Spring Cleaning.. next my closet!!

I need some major therapy... I just can not get on the wagon to diet and workout. I have been going at this for YEARS and I lose a little and then I stop. I usually dont gain it back, but I stop losing. Then I start again and the cycle continues. But, this time I GAINED.. with my foot injury (which is finally feeling better, not heels better, but I will take it) I couldnt work out and I ate like total crap.. Now, I am paying for it. I am totally miserable about it.. I will be good for a day and then stress will get to me and I will crave and give in. It is like I have no self control for making bad food choices. Then I end up feeling worse than before. This week has been the worst, I was getting it from my personal life and professional life.

My hubby is frustrated with me (not that he thinks I should lose weight, but he wants me to be happy) he tries to encourage me and in turn I cheat and then dont tell him what I really eat when he isnt around.

It is a horrible cycle and all of you who go through this, I feel for you. HELP.. Anyone gone through this and overcome it. It is almost an addiction. I dont drink or smoke, I EAT...

Hope everyone is having a better week than me. At least Mitt Romney is on Larry King!! I love you Mitt!!!!

I bought it yesterday and I did it after work today..

Oh My Goodness! It is amazing, the workout is exactly what I have been looking for and I love Jillian Michaels. Usually the message from the perfectly sized instructor is "You will feel so good after this" and "Think how proud you will be", etc.. and maybe these messages work for some people. But I do messaging for a living and you need to be straight to the point and Jillian Michaels is! Her message.. if you want a great body "You have to earn it".. I love it.. really makes you think..

Funny Story for the Day

My BF (who lives in Dallas) was working out at her gym last night. She was having a nice workout and decided to finish it off with a sauna session. So, she gets in the sauna and starts to relax when another girl gets in with her. The girl proceeds to take off her shirt (luckily her tiny sports bra stayed on) and plugs her ipod into her ears and begins to dance or as my friend referred (booty shake) in the center of the sauna... My friend said the sauna has a clear glass door so people could see even on the outside.. She had to get out of the sauna becusae she could not stop laughing.

I thought this was hilarious and thought I would share. Hope it brightens up your afternoon and people PLEASE just relax in the sauna. HAHA..

Channeling a 1950s Housewife Today...

Happy Thursday! Today is my last day of work this week. My hubby is in a wedding this weekend. So I get to take tomorrow off. We are leaving early (7am) Friday morning to make it in time for the Rehearsal and have a few hours for Mr. Bliss to study for his MPRE (big test he has to take before the bar).. Yes, I know you are all thinking, why would he take the MPRE on the day of his best friends wedding???? And my mother would say "Now, where are the three P's?? (Prior Proper Planning).. Well, they only offer the test once in the Spring and once in the Fall and he couldn't take it in the fall b/c he was clerking for a federal judge. But to makes things worse... THE GROOM has to take it along with two additional groomsmen.. Ridiculous.. Needless to say, they are going to be letting off some major steam at the Reception.

So think good thoughts for Mr. Bliss and misguided friends. He has to pass this to become a lawyer...

On to the hosuewife thing.. Since, these guys are going to be studying instead of drinking tomorrow night, I thought I would make some cookies for them to munch on... Here is what I am going to make, they are Paula Deen's Hidden Mint Cookies . I am going to make them little buckets with these cookies, some regular thin mints, samoas, and choc chip. I will post my creations later!!

Ingredients
18-ounce roll refrigerated sugar cookie dough, sliced 1/4-inch thin
14-ounce package chocolate mint wafers (HELLO GIRL SCOUT-THIN MINTS)
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans, or enough to cover top of cookies

Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Slightly grease a cookie sheet. Place slices of sugar cookies on sheet, about 2 to 3 inches apart. Top each with a chocolate wafer. Cover wafer with another slice of cookie dough. Brush dough with a beaten egg. Press nuts into top of dough. Bake for about 10 minutes.

And, I thought I would pack us a little lunch so we dont have to stop and eat fast food.... I thought I would pack this, some green apple slices and some bottles water!

Turkey, Mozzarella and Basil Wrap from Fitness Magazine
Ingredients
2 small (6-inch) whole-grain tortillas
3 ounces turkey
1 1-ounce slice part-skim mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Directions
Cut cheese in half.
Fill tortillas with turkey, cheese and basil.

So, I normally do not use Mary Kay (my mom always used Estee Lauder, so by default (and free makeup) so do I).. But my friend's mother in law started selling MK last month and this was her first party. I went with the intention of maybe buying a lip gloss or something small (Mr. Bliss, I promise!! haha)... Ingredients
1 1/2 cups uncooked long-grain rice
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup light coconut milk
3 tablespoons red curry paste
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 Savory Baked Chicken, shredded (about 3 cups)
1 1/2 cups fresh steamed green beans, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 red bell pepper, cut into thin strips
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Lime wedges

Preparation
1. Prepare rice according to package directions.
2. Meanwhile, melt butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat; whisk in flour until smooth. Cook, whisking constantly, 1 minute. Gradually whisk in chicken broth, milk, and coconut milk. Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, 2 minutes or until mixture is thick and bubbly. Stir in curry paste and next 3 ingredients. Stir chicken, green beans, and red bell pepper strips into curry mixture; cook 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Stir in 2 Tbsp. chopped cilantro. Serve chicken mixture over rice. Sprinkle with remaining chopped cilantro. Serve with lime wedges.

Movie/TV Reviews:

Mama Mia! So cute! If you have seen it on Broadway and I have it is the cutest musical. This is not quite as good. But very entertaining and cute. I def recommend it.

Nights in Rodanthe: It was rainy on Saturday night and it was such a perfect setting for this movie. Such a tear jerker, if you want a totally romantic good cry movie, this is it!

Changeling: Awesome! My hubby even liked it. Great story and actors. I highly recommend it.

Running in Heels: New show on the Style Network about interns working at Marie Claire. So great, drama and fashion. What more can we ask for!

Gosh I feel like all I did was watch TV. Hahaha...

Wow! I have never been so ready for the weekend! I have 8 minutes and counting until the weekend... NO big plans for me, just catching up on much needed sleep. I am finally feeling better, but I just cant seem to get enough sleep.

Anyone have any exciting plans??? Mama Mia came in the mail today and I am thinking about going through some old clothes and start spring cleaning!!!

My weekend goal is to hit the gym Saturday and Sunday to start my week off right!!!

Hello All. I hope your week is off to a great start! Mr. Bliss and I spent a lovely weekend dosing each other with cold and flu medication. I think I am finally feeling better!! What a sickness!
We did manage to watch a great movie. If anyone out there is looking for a guy approved movie with an interesting plot, I recommend Body of Lies with Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crow.

Well, on a great note! I have lost 10lbs!!!! Only 20 more to go for my goal!!!!!

This is week 2 with the new boss lady...More to come. Def worthy of entire post. Let's just say she already apologized for her potty mouth and use of the "F" word. How lady like..... YIKES!!!

Cold Medicine and A Serious Conversation??

Hello all! I am SICK.. Totally sucks! All the crazy weather changes have finally caught up with me.. I am keeping this post short, but thought this cold medicine induced story was worth sharing.

A former colleague of mine was in town today (not from here) and wanted me to meet with him and his boss. Possible consulting opportunities! yay! Luckily, I know this guy well from working together, because what I said to him on the phone was borderline mental. I was giving him directions to a coffee place and said,

"Here is my cell number in case you get SCARED!"

Who says that, I was so embarrassed. Thank the lord he laughed and said "Oh you are such a trip, I miss working with you!"... Geez...

Hello everyone! I am so sorry I haven't posted in a week. It has been one of those weeks! but a three day weekend was definitely what I was needing and now Pretty in Pink is on!! It is snowing here today, but at least I can enjoy it from the warmth of my home!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine;s day. I did! Mr. Bliss and I exchanged gifts and cooked dinner for another couple. It was low key and delicious!

Thanks to Monogram Chick for making my day special! My hubby ordered me a Monogrammed Recipe Box! With personalized cars.. So Cute!!

And my wonderful mother sent me a box of Valentine's goodies!! Of course, it was cupcake themed!! She made me a Valentine Apron and sent me soap/lotion dispenser with cupcakes on them, cupcake candles, Valentine's dishtowels, cupcake ornaments and a Wilton Cupcake Stand that I used to serve my Valentine's Cupcakes. I made Red Velvet Cupcakes with Vanilla Butter cream icing and topped off with coconut. If you have never tried this combination, they are delicious!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!! This is a big week! I sent out a resume to my DREAM JOB! So everyone send me happy thoughts!! And, we have a new director starting in our department tomorrow. My boss quit back in October and we have been on our own (which is awesome).. But I hear she is all business all the time and very uptight, YIKES!!

But on a great note! I booked my flight to Dallas! One of my sorority sisters and best friends from college is getting married in May!!!

I love Saturdays!! It was almost 70 degrees today and sunny. It was a much needed break from winter for me! My hubby is home! Yay!

We were finally able to catch up on our shows Lost and 24! For everyone who watches these shows, they were awesome this week!

I even worked out today. I did my 40 min Fat Burn Yoga video!! On a Saturday, this is a BIG accomplishment for me! And this morning I lost a pound! i was so happy after not losing anything this week. I know it doesn't really count until Wednesday, but it is encouraging!

Well, I knew it was going to happen and it did. I didnt lose any weight this week. (I didnt gain either) But it is my own fault for eating like a cow this weekend. But , I am still down almost 6lbs since I started actively trying to lose weight this new year and that isnt bad. So, I am back on the wagon and have added the exercise back in. So, here's to next week! It will be a good weigh-in!

So, to everyone trying to lose weight, stay strong when you have a mess-up! Don't give up!!

Terriffic Tuesday

Ahh Tuesday... It is snowing, again. We have a couple inches already.. I need WARM weather!

Well, my food was good today.. And I did a 40 minute fat burn yoga routine, an ab workout and upper leg. So, in total about an hour and 15 minutes. Tomorrow is my weigh-in, so hopefully I will see some results. I am not expecting much because I fell off the wagon this weekend. But I found some pics from a year ago as I was cleaning out my closets and I was FAT. So, I have my motivation now in print. I never want to look like that again, and I want to reach this goal I have set for myself.

Now a question for you! My mother "strongly suggested" that I cut my hair and I did. But, I hate it! It has grown back a little, but with all the weddings I am in this Spring/Summer, I would love my long hair back. Has anyone had luck with a vitamin or any other tricks?? Let me know!!

Well, I did the unthinkable today. I ordered my bridesmaid dress one size smaller....I know you are NEVER suppose to do this, but I have already had such great success. And I have over 4 months. But my true goal is to have the size smaller dress be too big when it comes!

My food was good today and I did 30 minutes of Pilates and a 30 minute upper arm workout. They are going to burn tomorrow. No pain, no gain!

Now for the most important things. Gossip Girl was awesome tonight!!! Doesnt anybody learn, Don't Mess With Blair! haha. She is so bad, but I love her. And Chuck, this is an interesting story line... And holy **** Dan and the teacher!

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Everyone in my family is still celebrating from a STEELERS WIN last night. What a great game played by both teams!!

My weekend recap:

Mr. Bliss was in New Orleans for a bachelor party (lucky him), so I was on my own. Actually I wont see Mr. Bliss until Thursday night (it will be two weeks). This semester is so hard! But the reward is worth it!

I cleaned out two closets! I am very proud of my good use of time. Feels so good to throw out stuff!! I prepared all of my foods for this week, to get a jump start on a successful weight loss week! I did Fat Burn Yoga for 50 minutes and did some arm, ab and leg weight work. I am feeling the burn today!!

I saw New In Town , with my friend Amber. Cute movie! I recommend it to all Chic Movie lovers. Harry Connick, Jr. is adorable!

Sunday, I baked Mr. Bliss and his roomies chocolate chip cookies. I made them a cute box with some blue/green tissue, hot chocolate mixes and of course the cookies and mailed it this morning. So, they will all have a little surprise tomorrow. If you haven't tried Paula Deen's Three Chocolate Cookie Recipe, YOU HAVE TO! They are simply the best. I didn't want to go to the store again, so I only used one type of chocolate chip, but they turned out amazing. I have added oatmeal to this recipe and it was great. It truly is the best recipe for chocolate chip cookies I have tried!!

Here is the recipe

Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1 3/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 (12-ounce) package semisweet chocolate morsels
1 cup milk chocolate morsels
3 (1-ounce) squares bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1 cup almond brickle chips

Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease baking sheets.
With an electric mixer, beat butter and shortening at medium speed until creamy; gradually add sugars, beating until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, beating well.
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blended. Stir in chocolate morsels and almond brickle chips. Drop cookies by 1/4 cupfuls about 3-inches apart onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for 11 to 12 minutes, or until lightly browned. Let cool for 2 minutes on baking sheets. Remove to wire racks to cool.

Hello all! Well, this has been quite a week! Snow, ice, power outage and a cable outage (luckily Gossip Girl and 90210 were reruns)!! Luckily all have been cleared up, but the threat of more snow is still hovering.

I think all this added to my "usual" frustrations this week. I had to take a job back in May after I worked on a Presidential Primary race that did not go as planned, but there is still hope in 2012! Since, Mr. Bliss is in law school, I was not in the position to be picky. This was an above average salary, health care and all the things we needed. So, first off, I know I am VERY lucky to have these things in our current economy. But it is so hard to spend 8-10 hours a day doing things you hate! This week, budgeting and expenses have been added to my responsibilities. They must be crazy, I am not even allowed to balance our checking account. I think my real problem is that I am not an office job person. I love campaigns! I love being my own manager, traveling, talking to people, etc...

I feel like I am "stuck" here until May, I am trying to stick it out a year for consideration to my fellow employees and for my resume. But wow has time flown by, I only have 3 more months until Mr. Bliss graduates from law school and I can find a job I really enjoy and feel that my talents are more suited towards. I always wanted to get into politics because I felt it facilitated an opportunity to make a difference and maybe the lack of that feeling is what adds to my discontent here at my current job. I mean, I am ALWAYS involved, hard not be in a small state. But, I really want to do it full time. I didn't think I would miss it so much.

All I want to do is run campaigns and bake cupcakes, is that too much? Ha ha!

Thanks for listening, I try to be positive and be thankful for what I have, but it is hard.

Valentine's Ideas Welcome!

Ugh.. It is Monday and I am back at work. Once again, it snowed. I think the novelty of snow has finally warn off. (my hubby just gasped). Brushing snow off your car on a Monday morning is well.. NOT FUN!

So, Mr. Bliss and I are living apart Monday morning through Friday (when I get home from work). He is in his last semester of law school and he decided to commute, since I found a job in Charleston and he clerked last semester in Charleston. We were going to be a part either Fall or Spring, so we choose Spring. It is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be.

So, I have already bought him the red vineyard vines belt, they have the cute one with the flies on it. Mr. Bliss loves to fly fish! But I want to do something special. Mojito Maven had an adorable idea with the 14 days of Beer!!

Good morning ladies!

Tonight one of Mr. Bliss's friends is having a party and being the only wife (the only other married couple in our group of friends went to D.C. for the weekend LUCKY!!) it leaves me in charge of these adorable boys (I guess they are technically men, but when I have to iron their shirts for dates, they are BOYS! ha ha!) So, I have decided to bake some cupcakes for the festivities. I am thinking of a wonderful moist chocolate cupcake with a vanilla butter cream icing. For fun, I am going to put coconut on some of them and die the rest of the frosting a preppy pastel (blue for the guys) and add sprinkles or a dusting of sugar for some sheen. I will take a picture and post my creations!!

I DVR ( back to one of my weaknesses of too much tv) Martha Stewart everyday and watch it when I get home from work! Yesterday was the best Martha ever (well besides last year's episode), it was all about CUPCAKES. I loved it! Since I love to bake, but I am just starting to get creative, I love to see how successful bakery owners make their delicious creations special! Below are a few they highlighted, in case you missed the show and of course, the recipes on her website are AMAZING!

Hello Friends!!

I am in week two of my weight loss challenge! I am very satisfied with my results, so far, but I know exercise is a major part. I have been struggling with a foot injury since August 2007. I was finally diagnosed with a stress fracture (still in an air cast). So, treadmill type exercise is out of the question. I was thinking pilates, but I have the mindset (I am sure it is wrong) that you need to sweat to lose weight.

My questions are these:

1. Has anyone had sucess losing weight with Pilates?

2. Any ideas about exercise strategies for me?

My Weight Loss Challenge

Oh the joys of being a female obsessed with weight (maybe that is all of us)... I have lost and gained weight over the past few years and while driving my hubby INSANE! I can say this is my final attempt, but we all know weight loss and even management is a lifelong process. I am a size 8/10 right now, which is healthy. But I am not happy with the way I look. I made a decision for 2009 that this is going to be the time that works. So, I ordered NutriSystem and my journey began on January 7, 2009. Below is my weight tracker! I update on Wednesdays. It has been working for me and I have made some great changes to my life. Instead of going out for drinks with friends, we have friends over to our house. Saves money and calories. It is much easier to have a diet coke in your home that at a bar... This is the first of my weekly posts (usually on Wednesdays) after my weigh-ins. Any tips people have, please leave them! We all need support through processes like these!

I woke up Saturday morning to a brisk 6 degrees!! Wow! This Texas Girl needs some warm weather! Just another day in gray, snowy weather! Only positive thing about the bitter cold is wearing my new J Crew winter white coat I got a month or so ago!! I really wanted one and I thought this was beautiful! Very flattering!

The rest of the weekend was also great! We had some good friends over for dinner and I made cupcakes with pink frosting (of course).. and today, my husband is the happiest man on the east coast because the STEELERS are going to the SUPERBOWL! I didnt grow up a Steelers fan, but I have become one through marriage. If we had a pre-nup, cheering for the Steeler would be the first clause.

Now, I am off to watch DVR.. Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters! Maybe it will be delightfully dramatic tonight, oh wait.. it always is!!!

I love these necklaces/bracelets! I just wish they had matching earrings! At Fornash in Georgetown. They have all color combinations.. so many it is hard to choose.. And the price is awesome! Makes a fabulous gift!

New!

Hi everyone! I am new to blogs and blogging, but I have seen so many cute blogs on the web, I thought I would try it out. I am from Texas and now I live on the East Coast. Maybe this blog will be a great way to keep in touch with old friends, reconnect with lost friends and make new friends!

I went to college in Texas, where I was/am a Zeta Tau Alpha!! After college, I left my wonderful state and ventured east towork on a Presidential Campaign in 2004. It was a bold move that turned out the be the best decision I ever mde.

I am still working on campaigns, but in May, I decided to get a "real job" (thanks Mom)... and now I am in Marketing/Event Planning/Public Relations. With politics on the side!

I love to shop ( Lilly, Tory Burch, J Crew, Kate Spade, etc...) I love to get manicures! I love pink, it is my favorite color for anything! I love to bake cupcakes!!! And I love everything Monogrammed (must be my Texas roots).
